Floral Impressionistic Oil Painting (This class is full)

This three-week painting class will be devoted to painting one bouquet of flowers in a vase each week.  Students will learn the techniques used by some of the famous impressionist painters, such as Monet, Manet and Morisot.  Beginners to those who have painted before are welcome. Limit 10

Drawing (Basic) (This class is full)

See objects as shapes and discover that you can draw!  You will also use aids and guides and learn other techniques that will have you rethinking your potential.  Please bring:  #2 pencil, #4B drawing/sketching pencil, #4B graphite stick, .05 black prismacolor fine line marker, 12” flexible ruler, 12 inch T-square, 15 x 18 drawing cardboard, 2 – 8x10 black view finders with different opening size (4x5 & 6x7). Those with drawing experience are also welcomed.  Limit: 10

Sewing (Basic thru Intermediate) (This class is full)

Learn sewing basics, from choosing and measuring fabric and working with patterns to assembly.  The first class will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at New England Fabrics, where our experienced instructor will help you choose a project based on your skill level.  Project completion during class time is based upon the complexity of your garment.  If you prefer your own sewing machine you are welcome to bring it to class. Necessary supplies include 8" dressmaker scissors, hand sewing needles, thread, tracing paper, seam ripper, pincushion, and pins.  Limit: 12

Quilted Wall Hanging

You will have a choice of two wall-hangings: a patchwork called White Christmas in which the center is a wreath and edges are personalize by duplicating your favorite Christmas cookie cutter designs or Watering Can Flower applique in which you will learn to create three-dimensional blossoms.  The first class will be held from 6:00-8:00pm at New England Fabrics, where our experienced instructor will help you choose fabric and supplies.  Project competion during class time is based upon the size of your quilt.  If you prefer your own sewing machine you are welcome to bring it to class.  Necessary supplies include scissors, seam ripper, rotary cutter and mat, 5 x 24 inch quilting ruler, thread and pins.   Class limit: 12

Pottery – Hand Building (Introduction) 

In this class you will become familiar with hand-building pottery clay techniques such as pinching, coil, and slab-building while learning to pinch the clay to form a pots, bowls, and cups.  You’ll also learn about surface design, textures, glaze application and firing.  Supplies are included in the cost of the course.  The last class will meet at her Rindge studio.  Limit: 12

Holly & Ivy Centerpiece

Use holly, ivy, pine and mixed evergreens to surround a candle and make an eye-catching, yuletide-fragrant centerpiece, while learning some basics of floral design.  Bring your own pillar candle of the size and color to fit your taste, along with heavy scissors and pruning shears.  Dish, floral foam, and greens are provided.  A materials fee of $11 is payable to the instructor the night of class.  Limit: 12

Learn the basics of stained glass and create two unique pieces.  This 6-week course will teach glass-cutting techniques, foiling, soldering, polishing and finishing, and materials set-up for a home studio. Supplies included in fee.  Limit: 8

Move beyond the basics of stained glass and create beautiful ornaments.  This class will help students to continue to develop glass cutting, foiling, soldering, and polishing and finishing techniques.  Prerequisite: Stained Glass for Beginners.  Supplies included in fee.  Limit: 12

One-Night Basket (This class is full)

In this one night basket workshop you WILL finish this cute, round basket (approx. 4"-5" in diameter).  This is a great introduction to the art of basketry as you will learn several standard weaving steps.  Bring strong scissors, small straight edge screwdriver, water bucket, old bath towel and spring type clothespins.  A materials fee of $10 is payable to the instructor the night of class. Boxwood Christmas Tree  - LIMITED SPOTS NOW AVAILABLE!

Create a tabletop Christmas tree from fresh boxwood and decorate it with baby’s breath; take home and decorate further with your own ornaments if you’d like.  This is a beautiful and long-lasting display for the holidays.  Please bring pruners or a heavy pair of scissors and cardboard box to carry home your tree. Bring 1” wide ribbon if you’d like to learn how to tie bows well.  A materials fee of $12 is payable to the instructor the night of class.  Limit 10
