Description

Photography is a form of art and expression that is increasingly available – with digital cameras, phone cameras, as well as traditional film cameras.  It is an art that is almost universal, but still completely individual to the person holding the camera. But how do you get the photo you want to take? This class will explore the fundamental techniques of photography – types of images, contributors to proper exposure, sharpness and focus, color balance, composition, flash photography, back-up strategies, and the use of the wonderful variety of light that we see in New England throughout the seasons. The classes will be taught with numerous examples and discussion about how your camera can best benefit from the amazing potential of today’s digital photography. Those with digital cameras will benefit most from the course, but camera phone users will also be welcome.   In addition to classroom work, we will be planning at least one photo shoot, to apply the techniques that we will be discussing.  Bring your digital camera and your camera manual to the classes.
