Requirements for Volunteers:

1. Willingness to work with adults: Our volunteers play a crucial role in supporting adult learners on their educational journey. A patient and understanding attitude is essential.
2. Flexibility: We appreciate the time and effort our volunteers dedicate to our programs. Being flexible with your availability allows us to match you with students who will benefit most from your support.
3. Able to devote 2 hours or more per week: Consistency is key when it comes to helping our students. By committing a minimum of 2 hours per week, you ensure continuity in their learning experience.

Matching with Students:
When you join our volunteer program, we work diligently to match you with a student whose needs align with your strengths and interests. Additionally, we take into consideration your location to ensure convenience for both parties.
Registration Process:
Getting started as a volunteer is simple. To become part of our community, follow these steps:
1. Contact our office to schedule an interview: We want to get to know you better and understand your motivations for volunteering. Reach out to us, and we’ll set up a convenient time for an interview.
2. Participate in a two-hour orientation: Once you’ve completed the interview successfully, we’ll invite you to attend an orientation session. This comprehensive introduction will equip you with the knowledge and tools needed to support our students effectively.
Student Needs:
Our students come from diverse backgrounds and have various educational goals. As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of:
– Students working toward an equivalency diploma
– Students for whom English is a second language
– Students who are working toward citizenship
– Students working toward improved literacy
